Federal Reserve Act of 1913
Created the Federal Reserve System, the central bank of the United States, establishing 12 regional Reserve Banks and a Board of Governors. Its stated purpose was to provide an elastic currency and stabilize the banking system. Section 16 concerns the issuance of Federal Reserve Notes.
